Where to find Ptuj
Ptuj is the oldest city in Slovenia found in the north-eastern part of the country. It is the center of Spodnje Podravje region and is situated among Slovene Hills, Haloze Hills, and Ptuj and Drava Fields.
The city lies at the main road Maribor – Zagreb, at crosroads towards Ormož, Slovenska Bistrica, Gornja Radgona and Lenart. In the eastern suburbs of Ptuj, in Spuhlja, the road leads us towards croatian border in the direction of Varaždin.
How to get to Ptuj
The city Ptuj has an interesting spot in NE Slovenia, because it is positioned not far away from the bigger cities. The second largest city in Slovenia, Maribor, is only 25 km away, the capital Ljubljana is only 120 km away. You will reach the Hungarian border after 82 km and Town Lendava, which lies at the border in region Prekmurje, after 76 km. The Croatian border is only 16 km away and you will reach the Croatian capital Zagreb after 86 km. Also Austria is near. Austrian border is 45 km away and you will reach Graz, the second largest Austrian city after 100 km.

- From north: If you are coming from north, from Austria take A4, A1 and E59.
- From west: If you are coming from west, from Ljubljana take A1 and A4.

The train
There is a regular line from Ljubljana,Maribor and Murska Sobota to Ptuj, from other parts of the country you have to switch at mayor train stations, like Zidani most or Pragersko. The timtables are to be found here. The train connections with Austria are good, but connections with Croatia and Zagreb are bad.

In the city centre there is a blue line or zone, where you can park. Just purchase a ticket at the machine. Leave the ticket under the windshield.

City transport Ptuj will be operated with a smaller air-conditioned bus with seating and standing area, available also to people with disabilities. The bus will drive every day:
– during working days (from Monday till Friday) from 6.30 till 21.00 o’clock,
– on Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 6.30 till 15.00 o’clock.
On a 30-minutes interval the line will connect the parking spot at Zadružni trg and Terme Ptuj on the left river bank of Drava and the residential part with the old city centre.
